Honorable Mention Title: Kamchatka Peninsula Volcanoes, 3/9/11 This image was taken from United Airlines flight 837 going from San Francisco to Narita, Japan on 3/9/11. Two days later, I was trapped for 16 hours on a train in Japan as a result of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake- it was also reported that some of volcanoes on the Kamchatka Peninsula erupted as a result of the seismic activity in Japan
